Delete your Smart Lists account

Smart Lists allows you to permanently delete your account directly from the app. You do not need to email support to request deletion.

Important: Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Smart Lists will ask you to confirm before the deletion is completed.

How to delete your account

Open the Smart Lists side drawer.
Select “Profile”.
Select “Account & device”.
Select “Delete account permanently”.
Follow the confirmation shown in the app to permanently delete your account.

What is deleted

When account deletion is completed:

Your Smart Lists account and profile are deleted.
Lists owned by you are deleted.
Your memberships in lists owned by other users are removed.
Outstanding invitations and private account-related records are cleaned up.
Account-specific billing and access information associated with Smart Lists is cleaned up.
Authentication access to the deleted Smart Lists account is removed.

Shared lists and historical information

Deleting your account should not corrupt shared lists or historical information that belongs to other Smart Lists users.

In limited cases, a historical record may need to remain so that another user's shared list or history continues to make sense. Where this happens, your identity is anonymised rather than left personally identifiable.

Any historical references that must remain are anonymised so they no longer identify your deleted Smart Lists account.

Data retention

Smart Lists removes your account and associated personal account data as part of the account-deletion process.

Limited anonymised or non-identifying historical information may remain where necessary to preserve shared data belonging to other users.

Smart Lists does not state a fixed retention period for ordinary deleted account or profile data. If specific records must be retained to comply with a legal obligation, only the information required for that purpose may be retained for as long as that obligation requires.

If you cannot access Smart Lists and therefore cannot use the in-app account-deletion option, contact support@smartlistsapp.com for account-deletion assistance.
