This Privacy Policy explains the types of information Smart Lists may process when you use the app or website, why that information is needed, and the choices available to you.
Information used by Smart Lists
Depending on how you use Smart Lists, the service may process information such as:
- your display name;
- lists, list items and list settings;
- shared list membership and invitations;
- budget amounts, purchase records and payer information you enter;
- Personal Balance information you choose to store in the app;
- app preferences such as appearance and display settings;
- technical information needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service.
How information is used
Information is used to provide Smart Lists features, keep shared lists working, save your preferences, support troubleshooting, protect the service and respond to support requests.
Shared list information
When you join or use a shared list, information that belongs to that shared list can be visible to other members. This can include your display name, list items, shared purchase information and payer information when Track Who Paid is enabled.
Your Personal Balance is intended to remain private to you and is not shown to other shared list members merely because you share a Budget List with them.
Service providers
Smart Lists may rely on hosting, infrastructure, app distribution, security or other service providers to operate the app and website. Those providers may process technical information as necessary to provide their services.
Retention and deletion
Information may be retained for as long as needed to provide Smart Lists, maintain shared list functionality, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or protect the service. You can use the Account Deletion process to request removal of data associated with your Smart Lists use, subject to information that may need to be retained for legitimate legal or operational reasons.
Your choices
You can change your display name and app preferences within Smart Lists, leave shared lists where the feature is available, uninstall the app, and request account or data deletion through the Account Deletion page.
Children
Smart Lists is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children in a way that requires parental consent under applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, contact support.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Smart Lists changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when a revised policy is published.
