Checklist Basics
Checklists are the simplest Smart Lists list type. They are designed for everyday items you want to add, reorder and tick off without needing budget tracking.
What a checklist is
A “Checklist” is a list of items that can be added, edited, reordered and marked complete.
“Checklist” tiles on Home are labelled “Checklist” so you can identify them before opening the list.
Use a “Checklist” when you only need to remember or complete items and do not need to record spending.
Adding an item
- Open the “Checklist”.
- Tap the “+” icon to add a new item.
- Enter the item name.
- Confirm the item so it is added to the list.
Completing an item
- Open the “Checklist” and find the item you have finished.
- Tap the completion control beside that item.
- Smart Lists marks the item as complete and changes its appearance so completed and active items are easy to distinguish.
Uncompleting an item
- Find the completed item.
- Tap its completion control again.
- The item returns to the active state so you can use it again.
How completed items appear
When an item is marked complete, Smart Lists sends it to the bottom of the list and places a strikethrough through the item text.
This makes completed items easy to recognise while keeping them available if you need to use them again.
- To make a completed item active again, tap the completed item. It returns to the active list and the strikethrough is removed.
Editing an item
- Open the “Checklist”.
- Open the edit control for the item you want to change.
- Change the item name and save it.
- The updated name is shown immediately in the list.
Deleting an item
- Open the item edit or options control.
- Choose the delete action.
- Confirm if Smart Lists asks you to.
- The item is removed from the list.
Deleting an item removes that item from the list. If you may need it again, consider leaving it completed instead.
Reordering items
- Press and hold the item you want to move.
- Drag it to the position you want.
- Release it to keep the new order.
- Use reordering to keep important or frequently used items near the top.
