Invitations and Joining

Creating an invitation

1. Open the list you want to share.
2. Tap the share icon.
3. Create an invitation code.
4. Send the invitation code to the person you want to add.

Sending an invitation code

1. Create the invitation from the list you want to share.
2. Copy or share the invitation code with the person you want to invite.
3. The invited person can use the code from “Join list” in the side drawer.

Using an invitation code

1. Copy the invitation code sent to you.
2. Open Smart Lists.
3. Open the side drawer.
4. Select “Join list”.
5. Paste or enter the invitation code.

Joining a shared list

1. Copy the invitation code.
2. Open the Smart Lists side drawer.
3. Select “Join list”.
4. Enter or paste the invitation code.
5. Confirm the join. The shared list then appears on Home.

What the person joining sees

After joining, the new member sees the shared list and the content available to members of that list.

The member count updates to include the new member.

Invalid invitations

If an invitation cannot be used, Smart Lists may show that the link is invalid or no longer available.

Ask the list owner or an existing member to create a new invitation if needed.

Expired or revoked invitations

An invitation that is no longer active cannot be used to join the list.

Create a new invitation from the list and send the new link.

Joining a list you already belong to

1. If you already belong to the list, opening another invitation should not create a second membership.
2. Return to Home and open the existing shared list from there.

What happens if the list has been deleted

An invitation cannot provide access to a list that no longer exists.

If the list was deleted, the invitation is no longer useful.
